A theft disrupted the afternoon of Friday, the 19th, at a restaurant along the lakeside of Peschiera del Garda, where a man stole a bag from a couple of elderly English tourists. The perpetrator, a 50-year-old homeless Cuban citizen already subject to an expulsion order, was caught in the act by the husband of the victim as he quickly seized the bag. The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile were alerted immediately and intervened within minutes, arresting the man in the act for aggravated theft. Thanks to the information provided by the victims and the witnesses present, the officers were able to recover the bag and return it to its rightful owner. Following the arrest, the 50-year-old was taken to the offices of the Peschiera del Garda Company and held in custody pending the validation hearing. The next morning, the Judge of the Court validated the arrest and sentenced the man to eight months in prison, with the execution of the sentence suspended. Italian Version
