A theft was attempted during the night between Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26, at a B&B in Gardone Riviera, where a 45-year-old man of Moldovan nationality was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Salò Company on charges of attempted robbery and resisting a public official. The individual had gained access to the property by forcing open an external box that contained the keys to the entrance, managing to rummage through the rooms and steal approximately 20 bottles of “Olio del Garda,” 5 bottles of wine, and various food products, with a total estimated value of 500 euros.
His actions did not go unnoticed by the B&B’s caretaker, who immediately alerted emergency services by calling 112. Officers from the Gardone Riviera station arrived on the scene and found the thief still inside the building. Upon seeing the Carabinieri, the man attempted to escape by pushing the officers, but he was quickly subdued. He was subsequently taken to the Brescia detention center.
