The State Police has dismantled a gang of thieves specialized in thefts in shopping centers, arresting three individuals in Lonato del Garda on the afternoon of Friday, August 1. Officers from the Brescia Mobile Squad monitored the suspects—a 46-year-old Colombian, a 49-year-old Cuban, and a 41-year-old Peruvian—all residents of Milan with criminal records. The trio had gone to the “Il Leone” shopping center, where they were caught while taking items from the “Maison du Monde” store and placing them in the trunk of a rental car.
Thanks to a swift intervention, the vehicle was stopped at the exit of the A4 motorway towards Milan. During the search, stolen goods valued at over 7,000 euros were found, including perfumes and sunglasses. The three criminals were arrested on charges of aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods and were taken to prison at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Investigations are ongoing to identify any accomplices involved in the serial thefts in the Northern Italy region.
