Thirteen Arco Residents Seek Damages from Bad Weather Subsidies

So far, thirteen subsidy applications have been submitted in the Province by residents of Arco (private individuals or owners of commercial and productive activities) who have suffered damage due to the bad weather. However, it is very likely that many more will be added before the deadline expires.

Applications can indeed be received until January 15th. By then, the damages might also be assessed in homes or warehouses that still have seawater in their basements today.

Interventions and technical inspections

This is precisely why many have not yet come forward to claim compensation, as confirmed by municipal technicians who in recent weeks carried out inspections in the areas of Arco most affected by the weather conditions.

Specifically, San Giorgio, Linfano, via S. Caterina, and the industrial zone of Ceole. Scattered here and there, you can still see the pipes connected to pumps exiting from fences and yards.

They have already ingested thousands of hectoliters of water that the full aquifer has spilled into basements, but their work is not yet finished.

Most affected zones and beneficiaries of the compensation

In San Giorgio, the problem affects both residential houses and commercial and artisanal activities. In via S. Caterina, the major issues are reported in the stores of the Green Center shopping mall, in the warehouse of the furniture company Del Fabbro, and at the Cavallo center.

For all, the provisions of the law apply, which set the compensation at 130,000 lire per square meter. Not everyone, however, will be able to access the subsidy, which is granted only for damages to structures (floors, systems, boilers) and not for furniture, furnishings, and vehicles, beyond a certain amount.

Procedure for applying for the subsidy

The application, filled out on the appropriate forms available at the offices of the municipal technical department at via S. Pietro 1, must be sent to the Public Disaster Prevention Service of the Province, located at via Vannetti 41, Trento, or submitted at the provincial peripheral offices, specifically at the former Incompiuta, in via Rosmini 5 in Riva del Garda.
