Torbole: diver in trouble, rescue operations in action
A diver was airlifted to the hospital following an incident that occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 24. The alarm was raised around 3:30 PM when some passersby discovered the man unconscious near the Calcarolle tunnel along the Gardesana Orientale, between Torbole and the border with the Province of Trento. It remains unclear whether the diver was transported to that location by the first responders or if he was already there. Immediately, the passersby contacted the emergency services by dialing the unified emergency number 112, thus activating the rescue operation. An emergency physician, an ambulance, and the firefighters from Riva del Garda arrived at the scene, using a semi-automatic defibrillator to assist the man. After receiving initial care, the diver was airlifted to Trento for further medical treatment. The Carabinieri from the Riva del Garda station were also present to manage the situation.
