Torri del Benaco: 18 wild boars trapped between town and Albisano

Eighteen wild boars were captured overnight between Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, in an area between Torri del Benaco and the Albisano hamlet. The operation was carried out by Provincial Police officers, with support from a local hunter, after the same group had reportedly been spotted in recent weeks along some roads in the town.

The capture required monitoring to locate the animals before the use of a Pig Brig, a mobile capture pen purchased by the Province two years ago. The equipment was acquired with a regional contribution aimed at controlling wild boar populations as part of efforts to counter African swine fever.
