Toscolano Maderno is preparing for the traditional New Year’s Swim, an eagerly awaited event that will take place on January 1st at the small beach next to the Maderno lido. In this 19th edition, numerous “daredevils” are expected to arrive not only from nearby provinces but also from abroad, ready to brave the cold waters of the lake. During the last rehearsal, over 150 participants already tested their resolve by plunging into waters that are currently around 11 degrees Celsius. The event is organized by the group “Those Who Swim All Year Round,” chaired by Alido Cavazzoni.
The day’s program includes a gathering at 10 AM in the area of the former Equestrian Field along the Zanardelli lakeside, in front of the Ciringhito bar, which will be open for refreshments and greetings. The collective plunge will take place at 11 AM sharp, with recommendations for a gradual entry into the water and adherence to safety regulations. To facilitate access to the event, parking will be free until the conclusion of the swim.
