Toscolano Maderno Honors Mario Battaini’s Blood Donation Legacy

The Toscolano Maderno community and the blood donation network mourn the passing of Mario Battaini, a key figure and former leader of Avis Lombardia. Battaini, who lived in Gaino, died on December 27 at age 81 after a lengthy illness.

Battaini, a longstanding volunteer, served as vice president and president of the Salò Avis section from 1993 to 1999, significantly contributing to increased blood donations in the 1990s. His legacy includes his role as a provincial Avis advisor and his impact on local and regional voluntary efforts. His funeral will be held on December 30 at 10 a.m. in Gaino.
