Toscolano Maderno invests 140M in footbridge, school, and infrastructure

Constructing the footbridge on the bridge cost 140 million. The same amount was spent on the project at Bornico, near Fasano.

The sidewalk has been repaired, flower beds redone, and an automatic watering system installed.

With a budget of 120 million, the Gaino square has been repaved. Using porphyry and cobbles.

It will be inaugurated during the local festival, in about two weeks.

Interventions in Schools and Public Facilities

The mayor of Toscolano Maderno, Paolo Elena, and the Public Works assessor, Chimini, took the opportunity to announce that, in September, elementary school children housed in the Padri Piamarta Institute along the lakeside will return to their original building.

The building next to the town hall will be renovated by September.

With an investment of 1.2 billion lire, electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems were overhauled, accessibility barriers removed (including the installation of an elevator, external safety ramp, etc.), and a cafeteria for 150 people created.

The school will also host facilities to accommodate the Carg, the afternoon recreational center.

There had been some controversy regarding the (temporary) relocation.

Interventions on the Aqueduct and the Transformation of the Former Slaughterhouse

Regarding the aqueduct, two old wells have been restored: one dating back to the Dubbini subdivision era, in the area of the former equestrian field (drawing water from the Agua Salada aquifer, at eighty meters depth); the other belonging to the cooperative on Via Celesti.

A recent regulation states that, if necessary, water must be drawn directly from the lake, as already done by San Felice del Benaco or Desenzano.

It is no longer possible to drill new wells, only to reactivate existing ones if needed.

Last but equally important news: the transformation of the former slaughterhouse into a municipal warehouse.

Work to adapt the facilities will begin in September.
