Toscolano Maderno: Fake Lawyer Defrauds Elderly Woman, 28-Year-Old Arrested A cunning scam targeting a pensioner has led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man in Toscolano Maderno. The individual, accused of extortion and impersonation, was captured by the Carabinieri of the Salò Company under an order from the investigating judge of the Brescia Tribunal. The investigation stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 24, when the elderly woman received a phone call from a man pretending to be a law enforcement officer, informing her of a serious car accident involving her son and requesting a sum of money as bail.
Shortly thereafter, another individual arrived at her door, posing as a lawyer, and managed to obtain a total of 19,000 euros in cash and jewelry from the woman. Thanks to thorough investigations conducted by the local military personnel, the alleged scammer was identified and transferred to the San Vittore prison. Additionally, an accomplice who acted as a driver was also identified and reported in a state of freedom.
