The Germans continue to demonstrate a strong loyalty to Lake Garda, despite current economic and political uncertainties. According to an annual survey conducted by the German tourism portal gardasee.de, which involved over 5,000 participants between February and March of this year, only 4% of respondents stated that they would not visit the lake in 2025. A significant 76% have already planned a trip, while an additional 19% are still undecided. Among the main reasons for choosing tourism at Lake Garda, the sun and favorable climate stand out, mentioned by 90% of respondents, along with the renowned local cuisine appreciated by 75%.
Regarding transportation, nearly 90% of participants plan to reach the destination by car, with concerns about construction on the Brenner motorway affecting travel planning. However, it has been assured that during the summer months, restrictions will be minimal due to a traffic management system designed to ensure smooth flow. Additionally, there has been a 16% increase in the number of travelers opting for the train compared to the previous year, likely attracted by the greater convenience offered by the new rail connections between Munich and Italy.
