A 35-year-old man has been reported after being caught attempting to enter Gardaland with a butterfly knife. This incident occurred during recent heightened police checks conducted by the police, Carabinieri, and other security forces in the area between Peschiera del Garda and Castelnuovo, coinciding with the May 1st holiday. The extraordinary operations aimed to ensure tourist safety, identifying over 700 individuals throughout the weekend, with particular attention given to tourists visiting the lakeside location.
The checks targeted various strategic points, including the Peschiera train station and major roadways, as well as public transport frequently used by young people. In addition to identifying individuals, vehicle inspections and assessments of public activities were carried out, revealing violations of traffic regulations. The intervention of water teams aboard patrol boats further contributed to the safety of swimmers and boaters crowding the lake’s shores. The overall outcome of the operation was positive, allowing both tourists and residents to enjoy the beauty of the lake in a serene atmosphere.
