A serious road accident occurred in Calcinato around 1:40 PM today, Monday, May 12, at the traffic light intersection between Via Marsala and Via Duca degli Abruzzi. A high-powered vehicle, coming from Montichiari and traveling at high speed, crossed the intersection and, after passing the traffic light, lost control, striking some structures on the roadway. The car veered into the opposite lane, coming to a halt against the wall of a private residence, also damaging gas meters.
Emergency rescue services responded promptly, with medical personnel, local police for the necessary investigations, and Carabinieri from Calcinato arriving at the scene. The firefighters from Castiglione delle Stiviere secured the area due to a gas leak. Three individuals were injured in the accident: two girls aged 16 and 17, and a 31-year-old man, all hospitalized in yellow code at the Spedali Civili in Brescia and at the Hospital in Desenzano. Their conditions are under observation, but they are not in life-threatening situations. Law enforcement investigations are ongoing to clarify the dynamics of the incident.
