A serious traffic accident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, September 18, along the Caffaro Provincial Road, near Ponte Re, at the border between Nozza di Vestone and Barghe. The incident involved a car carrying two elderly residents of Vestone and a company van from Tim heading to Vobarno, colliding head-on shortly after 4:30 PM. The impact was so severe that it required the intervention of the Fire Brigade from Salò to extricate the injured from the twisted metal. The most critical condition was reported for the woman in the car, who was airlifted to the Civil Hospital in Brescia, while the man was transported in critical condition to Poliambulanza; both were conscious upon arrival at the hospital. The van driver, a 40-year-old from Castelnuovo del Garda, sustained less severe injuries and was taken to the hospital in Gardone Valtrompia. The accident had significant repercussions on local traffic, causing a complete traffic jam in the Vestone area during peak hours. Law enforcement intervened to manage the situation and initiate investigations to determine the causes of the accident.
