In Salò, the drafting of the new General Urban Traffic Plan (PGTU) has begun, an update that has been awaited for over twenty years to address the growing mobility and traffic issues afflicting the city. Aiming to analyze the current state of traffic and promote sustainable mobility, the plan includes targeted interventions to enhance accessibility and improve the quality of life for residents. The modifications will focus on aspects such as strengthening pedestrian and bike-pedestrian connections, monitoring traffic flows, and ensuring road safety, all in an effort to meet the new needs of the community.
Councilors Tommaso Cigognetti and Roberto Novelli emphasized the importance of this project in ensuring a more livable and safe urban environment for all residents. Among the planned actions are simulations of current traffic and future scenarios, optimization of parking management to reduce congestion caused by the search for parking spaces, and measures aimed at protecting pedestrians and cyclists. This update represents a significant step toward a more modern and accessible city.
