This morning, a tragedy occurred at the port of Padenghe, where a 59-year-old worker lost his life in a drowning incident. The event took place around 8:40 AM when the man fell from a boat and disappeared beneath the surface of the lake. A call to the emergency number 112 immediately activated rescue operations, including the Coast Guard’s naval unit, which dispatched a maritime rescuer to initiate the search despite the challenges posed by poor visibility.
Firefighters from Malpensa quickly intervened, and after beginning their dives, they located the worker’s body at a depth of three meters. Unfortunately, upon the arrival of emergency medical personnel from 118, there was nothing that could be done to save the man’s life. The investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident has been entrusted to the Coast Guard of Salò at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Brescia, with the involvement of the Local Police to ensure the safety of the area during the investigative operations.
