A dramatic incident shook Desenzano del Garda on the evening of Thursday, September 18, when a woman was found dead at the foot of the railway viaduct on Via Mezzocolle. The victim, whose body was spotted by passersby who immediately contacted emergency services, suffered a tragic fall of approximately thirty meters, which proved fatal. The first reports to the emergency services came in around 10:30 PM, prompting a code red response that included the dispatch of two medical cars and an ambulance from the Red Cross of Rivoltella, supported by the Carabinieri and the Police. Upon the arrival of the medical personnel, there was nothing that could be done for the woman, whose name has not yet been released. Authorities have launched an investigation into the tragedy, and while other possibilities have not been ruled out, the most credible hypothesis remains that of a voluntary act, especially considering similar incidents that have recently occurred in the same area of the overpass.
