Tragedy in the water at Riva del Garda: rescue efforts in vain for a 48-year-old woman

A water tragedy unfolded yesterday, Friday, September 19, in Riva del Garda, where a 48-year-old woman, Eleonora Franceschini, originally from Besenello, lost her life in the waters off the Purfina area. The alarm was raised around 5:00 PM when a young swimmer noticed the woman’s body on the bottom at a depth of about three meters. Thanks to the swift intervention of some young people present on the beach who jumped in to retrieve her, the victim was brought back to shore, and resuscitation efforts were immediately initiated. Emergency services were quickly activated, and a medical emergency unit arrived on the scene by helicopter. Despite the rescuers’ efforts, who managed to restore the woman’s heartbeat for a brief moment after approximately twenty minutes of resuscitation, her condition deteriorated during transport to the Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento. The doctors could do nothing but confirm her death upon arrival at the hospital. Italian Version
