A tragic incident in the water has struck Malcesine, where a 67-year-old man, Maurizio Ceola, known for his commitment to youth soccer in Rovereto, was found dead. The incident occurred in the late afternoon while the man was on vacation with his family; after taking a dive, he did not resurface. Concerned about his absence, his family raised the alarm, prompting rescue operations. Firefighters from Riva del Garda, Trento, and Bardolino, along with the local police, Carabinieri from Malcesine, and the Coast Guard from Salò, responded to the scene.
After an intensive search in the Cassone area, Ceola’s body was located around 8 PM at a depth of approximately two meters. Unfortunately, all attempts at resuscitation proved futile. The sporting community in Rovereto is deeply shaken by the news of his passing; Maurizio leaves behind a wife and three children, creating an irreplaceable void among those who knew him and valued his educational contributions to young athletes.
