On Saturday, April 26, just before 10 AM, the lifeless body of 56-year-old Russian base jumper Larisa Sverdlenko was discovered in the woods of Monte Brento, at an altitude of approximately 700 meters above sea level. Search efforts began on Friday evening after the woman failed to return from a wingsuit jump from Cima alle Coste. Her body was located by a team from the Alpine Rescue Service in a rugged area, 180 meters below the Eagles exit point. According to initial reports, it appears that Larisa was unable to open her parachute during the flight.
The search operations commenced around 7:40 PM on Friday when the woman did not return to her accommodation and her car was found in the parking lot. The Riva del Garda Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service employed advanced techniques to locate her, including drones equipped with thermal cameras and a helicopter to survey the area. Despite the combined efforts of rescue teams and firefighters, the tragic discovery was made only on Saturday morning. After the coroner declared her deceased, the body was recovered and transferred to the mortuary in Dro.
