The search for a missing person on Mount Brione, between Riva and Torbole, has ended tragically: this morning, the lifeless body of the missing person was recovered.
The search operations began yesterday evening, Sunday 21, when the firefighters of Riva del Garda were alerted by the Central Trento about a missing person on Mount Brione.
On-site, 10 men from the Riva fire department intervened, with the support of the Dro and Arco departments. The rescue operations were coordinated by District Inspector Lorenzo Righi.
In support of the search, the Permanent Corps from Trento arrived, with the drone and SAF rescue team, as well as a helicopter equipped with a thermal camera.
A team from the Riva del Garda Alpine Rescue station made several unsuccessful descents due to adverse environmental conditions and poor visibility caused by the wind.
Due to the difficulties encountered during the night, the search operations were interrupted around 10:30 p.m. and postponed until the following morning at 6 a.m.
At 7 a.m. today, Monday 22, the body of the missing person was found and recovered by the helicopter.
