A tragedy has struck Lonato del Garda, where a 39-year-old worker from Calabria was found dead inside his mobile home at the Tav construction site. The alarm was raised yesterday morning, Sunday, December 1st, when the man’s colleagues discovered him unconscious in the Campagna area. Despite the immediate intervention of medical personnel, there was nothing that could be done for him, and his death was declared due to an apparent sudden heart attack that occurred during the night.
This incident marks the second tragic event at the same construction site in just over a year; in July 2023, another worker, a 65-year-old from Campania, was found dead in his home. The local community is shaken by this series of incidents, which brings attention back to the working conditions in the sector.
