Tragic Fall at Manerba Rock Claims Life of 65-Year-Old Hiker

A man died after falling approximately 40 meters from a trail at Rocca di Manerba on Thursday evening. The victim, 65-year-old Alain Cortellazzi from Lonato del Garda, was confirmed dead at the scene despite rescue efforts.

Emergency services, including the Bergamo-based helicopter, Vigili del Fuoco, and Carabinieri, responded to the incident. The body was recovered using a counterweight technique by five CNSAS technicians, who also retrieved personal effects. The area is known for its exposed sections and is popular with hikers and tourists.
