The decision to relocate the Drug Addiction Service to Salò has sparked a heated debate. Starting tomorrow, February 10, the territorial addiction service Noa-Ser will move from its current location in Prevalle to the hospital in Salò, pending the establishment of the new Community House in Cunettone. However, the choice to place this social assistance service in the city center, near the post office and the lakeside, has generated strong bipartisan criticism. City councilor Giovanni Ciato has expressed concern about the impact on the community and does not rule out the possibility of initiating a public petition.
Opposition also comes from other political figures and the president of the Salò Promotion merchants’ association, all agreeing that the presence of the service in the heart of the city could compromise users’ privacy and create inconveniences for residents. In response to the controversy, the mayor clarified that the decision was not made by the municipality but by Asst Garda, emphasizing that the SerD will focus on social and psychological activities without distributing medications, operating in a context already established with the psycho-social center located in the same building.
