Transhumance in Tremosine: traditions and cheese festival

Cows in a Grand Parade in Tremosine: The Enchantment of Transhumance. Tomorrow, September 14, the traditional Transhumance of the Alpe del Garda and the Cheese Festival at Cima Rest will take place, celebrating local traditions and the typical products of this area. The event, organized by the Alpe del Garda Dairy, will feature around sixty heifers that will set off at 7:30 AM from the Ciapa pasture, located at an altitude of 1,615 meters, heading towards the Polzone headquarters. Here, around noon, a large influx of tourists is expected, eager to enjoy traditional dishes such as skewers with polenta and local cheeses.

Simultaneously, the 44th edition of the Cheese Festival will be held on the Cima Rest plateau, where guests will have the opportunity to taste not only the prized Tombe cheese but also to discover the new project called the “Cheese Road.” Next Monday, at the Provveditori Hall in Salò, this project will be officially presented in the presence of institutional figures, including the mayor of Magasa, Federico Venturini, and MEP Paolo Inselvini. The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, will also attend the event scheduled for Monday in Salò.
