Toscolano Maderno and the CAI of Salò have recently signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing the hiking trail network, introducing a new Pizzocolo trekking route. The agreement, approved by the municipal council led by Mayor Chiara Chimini, seeks to ensure safe and sustainable access to the mountainous territory. Deputy Mayor Vittoria Goi emphasized the importance of collaboration with the CAI, which is responsible for trail maintenance and promotes mountain activities. In the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, the trails extend for approximately 621 km, of which 77.8 km are located within the municipality.
Among the initiatives outlined in the memorandum is the creation of the “Anello del Serà,” a circular route that will develop along the CAI trails, with a difficulty level of EE (Expert Hikers). This three-day trek will pass through picturesque locations such as Monte Pizzocolo and Spino, offering stops at existing mountain huts. The project will be presented during the upcoming Mountain Festival and will have a duration of three years (2025–2027), with a municipal contribution to the CAI of approximately 26,000 euros.
