Tremosine sul Garda and North Adams: a historic emigration twinning

Tremosine sul Garda recently welcomed a delegation of descendants of emigrants to North Adams, marking a new chapter in the twinning between the two communities. From September 18 to 24, the visitors, connected by family stories of emigration dating back to the early 20th century, had the opportunity to return to the places of origin of their ancestors. This bond, initiated in the early 2000s through the efforts of John Moresi, has seen a succession of annual meetings and exchanges that have strengthened the friendship between Tremosine and the American town.

During the visit, scheduled for Monday, September 22 at 2:30 PM, the delegation will be received by the President of the Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia at the Municipality of Desenzano. On Wednesday, September 24 at 3:00 PM, Mayor Battista Girardi will welcome the guests at the Municipality of Pieve. This twinning represents a lasting bridge that celebrates the common origins and shared values of the two communities, reinforcing an important collective memory for future generations.
