Tremosine sul Garda and wolves: coexistence between humans and large carnivores

An informative evening titled “Wolf: For a New Coexistence. The Large Carnivores in Our Mountains” will take place on Friday, October 24, at the Multipurpose Hall in Vesio, located in Tremosine sul Garda, starting at 8:30 PM. The event, organized with the support of the Vesio Alpine Group, will feature Elisa Lacona, a wildlife technician from Ersaf, who will discuss the increasing presence of wolves and the necessity for coexistence between local residents and these large carnivores. The recent Large Carnivores Report in Lombardy – Year 2024 highlights the challenges in monitoring areas inhabited by these species, as an ecological balance has yet to be achieved. It is estimated that by 2024 there will be approximately 28 confirmed breeding units in Lombardy, with 24 packs and additional pairs pending confirmation.
