Trentino Boosts Compensation for Wild Boar Damage Amid Hunting Law Reforms
The Trentino provincial government has approved a measure to modify hunting laws, lowering the minimum compensation threshold from €1,000 to €500 and increasing reimbursement for wild boar damages to 90%, up from 70%. The revision, proposed by Agriculture Minister Giulia Zanotelli and endorsed by the provincial council’s commission, updates criteria set in October 2023.
The new rules also incorporate European aid regulations, maintaining a €50,000 three-year aid cap per business under the “de minimis” regulation. The changes aim to improve compensation for damages caused by wild boars while aligning with European funding guidelines.
