Trento crackdown uncovers 16 unregistered tourist rental evaders in the Valleys

In 2024, Guardia di Finanza Trento identified 16 individuals offering tourist rentals online without fulfilling tax obligations. The investigation, which began after uncovering over €330,000 in tax evasion earlier this year, focused on properties in the Giudicarie, Rendena, and Chiese valleys, using data cross-referencing, surveillance, and inspections.

Among those checked, four were found to be total evaders, failing to declare more than €470,000 over five years. Some taxpayers opted for settlement agreements to resolve their cases, while authorities also identified unpaid provincial lodging taxes exceeding €9,000.
