Trento-Monte Bondone Cable Car Opens New Mountain-City Link

The Trento–Monte Bondone cable car project advanced as the Provincial Agency for Procurement and Contracts published a tender to award the technical and economic feasibility design for the first section linking Trento to the Sardagna district, with the design contract valued at €2.37 million. The route, starting from the former Sit area, is intended to integrate with urban public transport and includes plans for a new intermodal hub and a 240-space parking facility; the overall project is currently estimated at about €96 million, with a €37.5 million state contribution for the first section from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The feasibility work will also assess a potential second section to extend the connection up to Monte Bondone, including technical options via Candriai. The announcement follows completion of the environmental evaluation phase and the acceptance of technical observations, primarily concerning the Sardagna arrival station.
