Trento’s “Ottobre a Teatro” Festival Showcases Local Amateur Stage Talent
Giuliano Baroni presented the fifth edition of the amateur theatre festival “Ottobre a teatro”: six consecutive evenings from Saturday, September 30 to Saturday, November 4, featuring a program that combines the immediacy of the themes, audience appeal, and quality.
The opening is entrusted to “Don (n) e”, a monologue by Loredana Cont presented by Filo di Lizzana, which Baroni assures is truly exceptional.
Following that, Filo di San Martino-Fornace presents “Scondirole e pipacul”, directed by Camillo Caresia; Filo Paganella of Lavis stages “Le zitele Dallapè” by Nicola Parrotta; Filo San Genesio from Volano offers “Notte d’avventure” by Emilio Caglieri; the Gruppo Insieme from Bolzano performs “La vita la xe massa curta” by André Roussin.
Finale and venue of the performances
The finale is reserved for the hosts, the Sarcaioli, with a new work by Alberto Maria Betta, “Sol per ’na not”.
The performances will take place at the Media Sighele Auditorium.
Last year, during the work at the Oratorio, the festival moved to the middle schools, and this year it remains there due to space limitations.
The Oratorio has 175 seats, the auditorium 220: yet, thirty, fifty, or even sixty people must always be turned away because there isn’t enough space.
Request for spaces and growth of the amateur theatre sector
The obvious request to Councillor Marino (the municipality has granted patronage to the Zanelli circle organization) is for a finally adequate space for a sector that is experiencing significant growth, both in terms of companies (there are 125 active in the province of Trento) and audiences.
In short, everyone is now asking for a real theatre, worthy of the name.
