The Province of Brescia has approved a project for the construction of a tunnel that will bypass the centers of Salò, Toscolano Maderno, and Gardone Riviera, as proposed by the president of the Comunità Montana Parco Alto Garda Bresciano, Franceschino Risatti. This initiative aims to address the growing traffic issues in the area, which is frequently plagued by summer congestion. The provincial councilor responsible for Public Works, Paolo Fontana, emphasized the importance of a forward-looking plan that involves all local and regional authorities.
The tunnel will originate to the north of Toscolano Maderno and connect to the Tormini area, significantly reducing traffic on the Gardesana. Additionally, the completion of the tunnel between Gargnano and Tignale is also planned; this project has already been funded but is awaiting design adjustments. A meeting with the leaders of Anas and provincial authorities is scheduled for September 19 at the headquarters of the Comunità Montana Parco in Villa di Gargnano to further discuss these developments.
