The curtain rises on the 2024 sailing season of the Ufo22 with the start of the TurboCup, the regatta circuit dedicated to these boats. The first event will take place this weekend in Sulzano, on the picturesque Lake Iseo.
The Ufo22 is a one-design boat designed by Umberto Felci that is gaining more and more popularity among young sailors. Thanks to its simplicity and the logistical agility of the circuit, it offers them the opportunity to test their racing skills with a moderate financial commitment.
The Ufo22 class is known for its friendly and festive atmosphere on land, where sailors gather to share experiences and have fun together. It is expected that each stage of the circuit will see the participation of over 20 crews, confirming the growing interest in this class.
After Sulzano, the TurboCup will move to Torbole on May 11-12 on the waters of Lake Garda. It will then stop in Riva del Garda on June 22-23. The highlight of the season will be in Acquafresca from July 12 to 14, where the Ufo22s will compete for the Italian title.
This stage also represents the grand finale of the TurboCup, which will reward the best crew based on the results of the four events.
This year, participants will be able to rely on a technical assistance service for logistics and boat tuning offered directly by the class, making participation in the regattas even more convenient and accessible.
The appointment is therefore set for April 20, when a high-level competition will kick off on the waves of the lakes, with crews ready to demonstrate their skills and experience new emotions both on the water and on land.
