The Garda Karate Team recently had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program with the Polish team “Klub Sportowy Karate Sakura”. The training sessions took place at the Soiano gym on Tuesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 2nd. The Polish team consisted of around fifteen karateka from Rumia, Poland.
During the training sessions, the young athletes studied and observed each other. Initially, there was some mutual apprehension, but the universal language of sport allowed them to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers. Over the course of the two-hour training sessions, the kids loosened up and formed friendships in a serene and relaxed atmosphere.
Giovanni and Raphael, members of the Garda Karate Team, led the training sessions, drawing inspiration from the techniques of the Polish karateka. This mutual exchange was very enriching for both teams.
The Garda Karate Team felt honored to host the Polish team and was gratified by the opportunity to interact with a sports community similar to their own. During the encounter, nobody felt judged or negatively evaluated; the main objective was simply to practice karate and share this common passion.
