Ugo da Como Foundation Highlights and 2000 Annual Report Review
An assembly of members of the Amici della Fondazione Ugo da Como association has been convened for tomorrow, January 27th, at 2:00 PM (second call at 3:00 PM), in the conference room of the Lonato Rest Home.
Agenda and culturally promoted activities
Among the items on the agenda are the report by president Irmingard Fehrmann on activities carried out over the past three years and the proposal to increase the number of Council members from 5 to 7, as well as the presentation and approval of the 2000 financial statement.
Significant cultural activities were promoted in the recently concluded year. It is impossible to mention them all.
Regarding exhibitions, we recall, among many, the one dedicated to the historical period 1815-1870 (curated by Luciano Faverzani and Giancarlo Pionna), portraits of the Fondazione Ugo da Como viewed by students of class V C at the elementary school «Don Milani» of Lonato, and an exhibit on «Old and Curious Wires» curated by Soprintendenza per i Beni Ambientali e Architettonici, during the second week of culture in collaboration with Stefano Lusardi.
Lecture series titled «Inside and Outside the Museum» were held in the conference hall «Piera Carpani Glisenti», located in the Rocca of Lonato, covering various topics.
In 2000, the association also joined the Federazione delle associazioni gardesane, created specifically to give proper attention to the Garda territory, often overlooked for its historical-monumental riches as well as its environmental features.
Additionally, noteworthy are the publication of the Fondazione notebooks, the bulletin that periodically informs readers and scholars about the group’s activities and highlights the irreplaceable role of guides.
It is worth mentioning that the Fondazione was opened to the public eight years ago in June, receiving enthusiastic responses from thousands of visitors.
