From April 30 to May 7, the **National GPG Fencing Championship** took place at the Playhall in Riccione, an event that saw the participation of 3,141 young athletes from all over Italy. Among the standout performers, **Umberto Aime** from Libertas Scherma Salò claimed the title of **Italian Champion in the Giovanissimi Foil category**, defeating Gabriel Natha Schiantarelli in the final with a score of 10 to 7. Despite Aime’s impressive performance, other athletes from the team also achieved significant results: Alessandro Molteni and Simone Fiocca reached the round of 16, finishing ninth and eleventh, respectively.
Libertas Scherma Salò recorded an unprecedented success, as emphasized by president Alberto Franchini, who highlighted the importance of teamwork and parental support in achieving such milestones. Furthermore, coach Alessandro Bacci led a delegation of athletes who excelled in various categories, promising more challenges at the regional championships in Paderno Franciacorta.
