The 72nd Trento Film Festival concluded with the awarding of the film “Un Pasteur” by Louis Hanquet, which won the prestigious Genziana d’oro award for Best Film. The film tells the story of a young pastor struggling with loneliness and an invisible adversary. The French director captured the attention of the jury and the audience with his ability to convey the emotions and challenges faced by the protagonist.
The film “Le fils du chasseur” by Swiss director Juliette Riccaboni won the Genziana d’oro award for Best Film on mountaineering, populations, and mountain life. The film received a special mention for its innovative approach and ability to tell stories related to the mountains in an engaging way. In particular, the documentary “Marmolada – Madre Roccia” received a special mention for its captivating narration and attention to the beauty of the mountains.
The Genziana d’oro award for Best Exploration or Adventure Film, along with the “Città di Bolzano” award, was given to “The Great White Whale” by Michael Dillon. The director immersed himself in the depths of the oceans to tell the story of a great white whale and the adventures it faces in its natural habitat. The film was appreciated for its ability to engage the audience and convey an ecological message.
In the section dedicated to short films, the Genziana d’argento award for Best Technical-Artistic Contribution was given to “Body of a Line” by Henna Taylor. The animated short impressed with its originality and skill in combining different artistic techniques. Additionally, the Best Short Film award was given to “Postcards from the Verge” by Natalia Koniarz, which was able to tell intense and engaging stories in short fragments of time. A special mention was given to the short film “Silent Panorama” by Nicolas Piret, which evoked emotion with its visual poetry.
Finally, the Jury Award was given to the film “Diciassette” by Swiss director Thomas Horat. The film captivated the jurors with its intense storytelling and the performances of the actors.
