A tragedy in Sardinia has struck the community of Chiari and its surroundings, where 59-year-old Luca Pedrali, an experienced diver, lost his life during a dive in the karst spring of Su Gologone in Oliena. Originally from Chiari and residing in Salò with his wife, Pedrali was in Sardinia for a vacation with friends, but the experience turned into a tragedy when he suffered a health issue during the dive. Although he managed to resurface, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and the efforts of rescuers to revive him were in vain. Luca was well-known in the diving community and held Italian records, including one from 2017 when he reached a depth of -264 meters in Lake Garda. His death recalls another tragedy that occurred in 2010 at the same location, which claimed the life of the former mayor of Ponte di Legno, Paolo Costa. The general director of the Volontari del Garda expressed the community’s sorrow over the loss of a respected and beloved professional in his field. Italian Version
