A vandalism raid has struck the nativity scene set up by the Firefighters along the Zanardelli lakeside in Salò, revealing a disheartening episode of vandalism that has been recurring in recent years. The discovery was made this morning when volunteers found broken shutter handles and a damaged wooden ladder. Additionally, a firecracker was discovered stuffed in the hay of the grotto, an act that could have had serious consequences. To make matters worse, some vandals defaced the figurines using bodily fluids.
In response to this unacceptable behavior, the Salò Firefighters have issued a call to young people: “If you have nothing better to do than tamper with our nativity scene, come and see us! We are always looking for new volunteers to channel their energy into constructive activities.” The hope is to engage young people in positive initiatives rather than destructive acts.
