On August 31st at 9:00 PM, the **Cortile del Palazzo Pastore** will host a highly anticipated cultural event: a performance by **Vanessa Gravina** in “Platero y Yo.” This show is a reinterpretation of the work by Spanish poet **Juan Ramón Jiménez**, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1956, drawing inspiration from his hometown of Moguer.

## A Journey into Poetry

The narrative revolves around the character of Platero, the donkey who symbolizes a profound dialogue between the author and nature. A question that many readers might ponder is whether there are still donkeys in Moguer, reflecting on the importance of the connection between humans and the environment. Jiménez’s work is not merely a poetic monologue; rather, it is an ongoing conversation with the natural world, where the donkey serves as a bridge to explore human nature and personal introspection.

## A Unique Performance

On stage, Vanessa Gravina will perform as the reciter, accompanied by musician Claudio Piastra. The interpretation of the melologue includes a selection of the most evocative pieces drawn from the 28 sections of the original work, composed by **Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco**, known for his influential contributions to the 20th-century guitar repertoire. “Platero y Yo” is distinguished by its unique structure that intertwines recitation and guitar music in a captivating sonic tapestry.

## Practical Information

In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved to the **Teatro Sociale**. Admission to the event is free, providing everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in this artistic experience at no cost.
