Veneto Approves Law to Sanitize Boats from Other Regions

The Veneto Regional Council’s Second Commission has approved a bill amending Law No. 52 of December 1, 1989, concerning lake district management and navigation. The new legislation mandates the sanitization of hulls and submerged parts of boats arriving from other basins to prevent the spread of invasive species.

The measure, developed through collaboration with Lombardy and Trento, sets operational guidelines, intervention procedures, and certification processes for boat sanitization. The initiative aims to align regional policies and was overseen by Vice President Filippo Gavazzoni to ensure coordinated implementation.
