Veneto Honey Producers Showcase at Lazise Event

The label of “sweet city” truly fits Lazise. Along with Montalcino in Tuscany, it is one of the most beloved places for honey producers in our country.

This was clearly evident last Sunday, with their abundant presence around the port, the Venetian customs house, and the San Nicolò church, proudly displaying their wonderful natural products.

Acacia, chestnut, and multifloral honey, honeydew, royal jelly, propolis, and even pollen. There was no shortage of beeswax and products derived from bees and honey.

Associations and regional honey production

Representing the Veneto Regional Honey Producers Association were the most important producers of the Veneto region.

An impressive 1,200 quintals of sweet honey are produced regionally, and in 1999, the turnover generated by the honey producers’ association, headquartered in Vicenza, exceeded 1.3 billion lire.

With over 1,200 members, the association continues to grow and is highly attentive to technological and hygienic-sanitary developments concerning the processed product.
