Veneto Hotel School Expansion to Finalize in 2023 with New Classrooms

Work will begin in early September to expand the Carnacina hotel school on Via Europa Unita. This is the second and final phase of the building, which was inaugurated with its first section on October 17, 1992.

The institute will be completed with the finalization of the south wing, the creation of new classrooms for teaching, and the arrangement of spaces designated for professional activities such as kitchens and laboratories.

The total cost of the works is approximately 950 million euros, entirely financed by the Regione Veneto.

Objectives of the intervention and history of the school

“The goal of our Administration”, explains Mayor Armando Ferrari, “is the completion of the hotel school in order to free up all the spaces at Villa Carrara Bottagisio, a municipal property currently occupied by the institute for kitchen and laboratory activities.

The villa will subsequently be repurposed for different public uses.

Founded in 1973 as a branch of the professional hotel institute of Gardone, the Bardolino school has quickly made significant progress. As it grew, in 1985 it gained independence and later established a coordinated branch in Valeggio.

Named after the famous gastronome Luigi Carnacina, the institute has approximately 42 classes and trains students for qualifications such as kitchen assistant, waiter/barman, and hotel secretary and administrative staff.

Infrastructure improvements for traffic flow

This fall, exterior work will also begin on improving traffic conditions with the modification of the intersection between Via Europa Unita and Via dello Sport. This will involve extending the small bridge over the San Severo stream and the related installation of some sidewalk segments.
