On the evening of Friday the 22nd, in Lonato del Garda, an operation by the State Police led to the arrest of a 50-year-old man, already known to law enforcement for various offenses. Officers from the Mobile Squad of the Brescia Police Headquarters, after identifying a Volvo V50 that had been stolen the previous day, attempted to stop the driver. Instead of complying with their request, he accelerated, leading to a reckless chase through the streets of the town, endangering pedestrians and other vehicles.
After being cornered on a dirt road, the man attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by the officers. Following a violent assault against them involving kicks and punches, the officers were ultimately able to subdue him. Arrested for violence, resisting a Public Official, and receiving stolen goods, the individual has been made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The Chief of Police, Paolo Sartori, has implemented preventive measures against him, prohibiting his return to the municipality for the next four years, highlighting the seriousness of the assaults faced by the officers during their duty.
