A violent storm hit the Brescia Riviera early today, with heavy rain and strong gusts around 6:00 causing a crane to collapse onto the SS 45 bis “Gardesana Occidentale” near the traffic-light junction in Gardone Riviera. The structure fell onto the roadway, blocking traffic, while rescue teams and firefighters worked to remove the crane and secure the area.

The same morning brought problems in Salo and nearby towns, including downed trees, damage to outdoor seating areas from the wind, and flooded cellars due to intense rainfall. Firefighters received multiple calls mainly for clearing hazardous fallen branches, pumping out water from flooded premises, and checking potentially risky situations, with further updates expected in the coming hours on the overall damage and restoration times for traffic.
