Vittoriale Acquires Gabriele d’Annunzio’s Naval Pact Documents

The Vittoriale degli Italiani has acquired the original documents of the Patto Marino, authored entirely by Gabriele d’Annunzio. The collection includes 105 autographed pages, 36 envelopes, and 46 letters, some of which are telegrams to Mussolini, Ciano, and Giulietti. The materials also feature handwritten notes, a diary, and a copy of the pact, which outlines demands such as recognition of the “Garibaldi” cooperative, protection of 1913 regulations, family allowances for sailors, and the establishment of an arbitration college.

The acquisition will be presented during the “Fatica senza fatica” festival on March 14-15, coinciding with the reopening of the restored and illuminated Mausoleum, the renovated auditorium, and free access to the park. Events include poetry anthologies curated by Guerri, new artworks in the park, and spring exhibitions dedicated to Ugo Mulas, Lorenzo Capellini, Emanuele Gregolin, and Umberto Mariani.
