Vittoriale Acquires Original Documents of D’Annunzio’s Naval Pact
Garda Notes reports the acquisition of the original manuscript of the Patto Marino by Il Vittoriale degli Italiani. This document, written entirely by Gabriele d’Annunzio, highlights his role as a poet, legislator, and social mediator, serving as a symbolic political testament advocating for workers’ rights and social justice. The collection includes 105 autograph pages, 36 envelopes with 46 letters—including telegrams to Mussolini and Ciano—and materials related to the document’s creation.
The collection will be officially presented during the “Fatica senza fatica” festival on March 14-15, 2026, coinciding with the reopening of the restored Mausoleum and Auditorium, which will feature new lighting and exhibitions. The event will also showcase a poetry anthology, art installations, and spring exhibitions, including displays dedicated to Ugo Mulas, Lorenzo Capellini, Emanuele Gregolin, and Umberto Mariani. Admission to the Vittoriale park will be free during the event, with extended hours on March 14.
