Voices of Stone at the Manerba del Garda Archaeological Museum
A new exhibition titled “Voices of Stone: When Walls Speak. Graffiti and Messages in the Churches of Manerba” was inaugurated at the Archaeological Civic Museum of Valtenesi on December 23. Organized by the Municipality of Manerba del Garda in collaboration with ASAR Garda APS, the exhibition showcases historical graffiti and messages found in local churches, providing insight into the lives of ancestors.
Museum Director Simone Don emphasizes that these historical traces tell stories of farmers, nobles, and warriors, as well as “recommendations to the saints” reflecting past daily life. The exhibition aims to highlight the significance of often-overlooked graffiti, which are frequently dismissed as vandalism. With contributions from experts such as Davide Amadori and Gian Pietro Brogiolo, the exhibition will run until January 25, 2026, and offers free admission to all visitors.
