Volunteers from the Recuperanti Museum in Toscolano Maderno have discovered the knife used in the murder of Sharon Verzeni during a search operation in Terno d’Isola, in the Bergamasca region. The activity, which took place between August 30 and 31 at the behest of law enforcement, involved the group scouring the area along the Adda River with metal detectors, leading to the discovery of the weapon in a specific location on Via delle Cave.

A breakthrough in the investigation occurred on the night between Thursday and Friday with the arrest of Moussa Sangare, 31, who was already under investigation for domestic abuse. Captured on surveillance cameras while leaving the crime scene on the night of July 30, he confessed to murdering the woman. The group of volunteers completed their search after inspecting over 350 manholes and several surrounding areas, totaling around forty hours of work.
